In The Press
If we had a zero drop category for our end-of-year awards, the Topo Athletic Pursuit would likely find itself at the top.
"One thing that will stick out to runners is the step-in feel. The foot-shaped toe box is dialed in all the way around. Whether you have a wide foot or not, this shoe should please your feet. The rounded toe box feels roomy, yet I had zero issues with movement in the forefoot because of the security in the back two-thirds."

A Solid Shoe That Performs Well
I gave this a 4/5 stars because the top of the shoe and tongue bites into my midfoot. I tried lacing it several ways (see Topo's lacing suggestions on their website), which helped, but I still had the issue and the shoe bothered me constantly. And, lacing the shoe too loosely negates the lateral s...

Poor durability
Comfortable and good looking, but did not hold up well along the collar. The material along the inside of the collar fell apart within a month, and contact with customer service claimed it was from my gait (as if my feet brush along each other when I walk, which they do not) and suggested I add tap...

Great balance of control and cushion
Last year I upped my running from 50K to 50 miles. I had been a die-hard fan of the Altra Lone Peaks, but they were so loose in the heel and just didn't provide enough cushion for that increase in volume—my feet were thrashed. I bought the Pursuit and wore them for a 10 mile run out of the box with no issues. The fit is amazing: secure in the heel, with room for my forefoot/toes to move normally. Enough cushion to protect my feet, but not so much that I can't feel or respond to the trail. Perfect.
This is the shoe that I'm always wearing!
If you're looking for an extremely comfortable shoe with a wide toe box, a great fit through the midsole and heel, the grip that comes with a Vibram sole, and a zero drop platform, then the Topo Pursuit is the shoe for you. It is easy to put on and take off, the tongue is well padded and comfortable and the laces are just the right length and stay tied. The shoe has just enough structure that I can be assured that my microspikes stay in place. I've been wearing these shoes during the last three seasons and they have been great!
Best sneakers ever!
I was recently told I have planter fasciitis and was on the hunt for new sneakers. I found these and the support, arch, wide toe are amazing. By far the most supportive and comfortable sneakers I've ever had.

Roomy toe box and great mid-foot support!
I needed a foot shaped, roomy toe box shoe for daily walking and hiking (about 50 miles/week). I also wanted a zero drop shoe with good mid-foot support, good underfoot cushioning, and excellent grip for walking on slippery surfaces (I live in Alaska). Because of Alaska's weather, I needed a shoe which would transition from outside, to the car, to the store without my needing to change into boots. This shoe has better traction than my boots! This shoe hit every single category but one--please, please give us a neutral color like grey or black?
Love the wide toe box and secure heel
It's very difficult to find a shoe that has a wide toe box, AND narrow heel, AND high arch reference. These are IT!! Thank you!
I love the roomy toe box, snug fit, and stability.

Comments about Pursuit
I run/hike on technical trails about 3 miles a day. The Pursuits have enough room in the toe box, which was the most important feature for me. Also important is the stability and snug fit in the mid-foot, which provide support when the trails are angled across cliffs and hillsides. I love my Altra Lone Peaks, but they do not provide lateral support when the trails require it.
Happy feet👣
I bought these for hiking and walking. The shoes were comfortable, the toe box perfect, right out of the box. The next day we went for a 2 mile hike on the trails in our local state park. The grip is amazing and my feet were happy, no chafing at all. Looking forward to more and longer hikes in the Grand Tetons next month. Very pleased with this purchase👍
Love the cushioning and zero drop, but don't love the tongue
I love this new Topo shoe! The toe box is roomy and these are zero drop shoes. The cushioning is awesome for rocky trails! The only thing I don't like is the tongue. I constantly shift it while lacing, but still sometimes the attachment mesh gets caught and hurts the top of my foot. If the tongue wasn't attached to the shoe, I would give it five stars. I can't thank Topo enough for making a zero-drop, cushioned shoe!
And, lacing the shoe too loosely negates the lateral support and my foot moved around inside the shoe. I should mention that I have had trouble with other models/brands biting into my foot, so this is probably a "me" problem and not a shoe problem. This shoe is slightly heavier than some other models but it is a workhorse. I tried this shoe hiking, and on a very hard trail that had everything - wet clay, mud, rock scrambling, loose rocky terrain, steep hills, etc. It performed like a champ. It was sticky on the rocks, even with wet clay on the bottom. The mud/clay on the bottom would shed off quickly. I ran in temps 50-70 degrees and didn't have a problem with the warmth of the shoe. I usually am not a fan of Topo color schemes, but the Sage color was nice. I ordered my usual shoe size for Topo shoes and it fit perfectly. Side note: I own Dirty Girl Gaiters which do not use the Topo gaiter system, so for my Topo shoes I attach with velcro to the back of the shoe and it works perfectly.
Shoe pushes your weight to the back of heels!
Just like every shoe currently on the market - these shoes have the toe upward and put your skeletal weight on your heels! What's up with shoe designers ?
