These we my first pair of hiking boots and after hearing that it was essential to "break hiking boots in," I was pleasantly surprised that these fit comfortably from the start. Also, they are light and don't weigh my feet down. I will purchase again from Topo Athletics

I used these boots on a 6 mile, 30 degree, fall morning hike. I was happy with the comfort and roomy toe box. Going up and down hills my foot was securely held in place by the laces. The lace locking system worked well for me. I was very happy with the traction I got with these boots, they out performed my friends boots of another brand on the hills. I hope they perform as well in the snow and bitter cold this winter. So far, these are very good.

Comments about Trailventure WP

I am so happy to finally find a hiking boot with a wider toe box. I have tried other hiking boots over the years that made my feet hurt. It's nice that my feet don't get wet when walking in wet grass. I was a bit hesitant to buy hiking boots online, but they ended up fitting perfectly. My only quibble is the photo looked like a tan color and it is actually lighter—more of a cream color. Had I known I would have gotten the teal but my preference would be a different color altogether—brown or rust but that wasn't an option.

I switched to these boots from a full waterproof hiking boot by a different brand. I wanted something with a roomier toe box since I was getting blisters on my pinky toes. I wore these on my first hike (7 miles) since buying them and am very happy. No blisters. My feet weren't as fatigued. And I was even able to trail run a bit down the trail on my descent. They were very lightweight which was a refreshing feeling. I am excited to use these on longer hikes where I can test the waterproofness and durability a bit more. But I'm very optimistic and think I'll be a Topo Athletic customer as long as the company produces a model with the ankle support!

All day comfort but need frequent adjustment

I have been hiking in these for three weeks and I'm in love. Zero break in time! The only time my feet get wet is when snow gets in through the top of the shoe, the boot itself is completely sealed. The nice wide toe box is so nice! I have a narrow heel, so i really have to cinch because i ordered them a half size up. My only complaint is with the laces. They slip. I need to swap them because they do not hold a knot which leads to frequent stops to tighten. I didn't think I'd like such a loud show, but i really enjoy the colors! And the comfort is unparalleled.

Love these boots, but not a fan of the colors. The teal is too bright and the tan is too light. Please make this shoe in BLACK! A dark camel/brown option would be great too.

The Good (5 stars) - these are by far the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever worn. Out of the box I hiked a rugged, rooty, steep 9 miles. Since then I hiked 15+ miles at 15 degreesF with 3500 elevation gain and my feet were warm and comfortable with a light wool hiking sock. My ankles are supported and comfortable. My plantar fascitis and bone spurs remain pain free. I have hiked both with a 35pound overnight pack and as day hike. Awesome for both, even on steep, slippery terrain. The Bad (0 stars) - not the remotest bit waterproof. Like, not at ALL. The third time I wore them, for a stroll from home after rain so the grass was wet within a mile my feet were soaked. Completely soaked. This week we hiked up to a ridge where there was about 2" snow, again - feet completely soaked. I wish I had chosen the cheaper non-WP version as 1) I would have saved $$ and 2) they would dry out faster after becoming wet sponges. I wish

Crazy comfortable hiking boots. These are the only shoes that have not given me blisters. The quality of either workmanship or design is poor. I wore them for the first time hiking a 14 ner in Colorado and we hiked 15 miles. When the hike was over I noticed the boot was falling apart. Not at the sole, but where the toe flexes in the toe box. Both shoes have fallen apart the same area. I LOVE the boots, but am hesitant to buy another pair. I hope they fix this problem and if so, I would buy these again. Not great in wet weather.

Pulling apart on other side too.

Comments about Trailventure WP

Felt like the ankle-high feature just plopped onto the running shoe. Didn't feel sturdy enough to handle hiking more than easy soft-dirt trails. Didn't like the lacing…not able to easily lace up. Love love love my other Topos; regretted sending these back. I've hiked over 2,000 miles in Europe, so I'm quite familiar with hiking footwear. Keep at it Topo… Thanks.
