Insanely comfortable yet light trail shoe
by Beverly Z
I am a Topo ambassador.
The terraventures were the 4th Topo shoe that I've tried. It quickly became my favorite. Why?
1. It is insanely comfortable. I've done 12-15 mile trail runs very happily in this shoe. This limit will continue to be tested!
2. It is light, responsive and fast - but yet still feels cushioned.
3. Love the lugs on the forefoot. There are hills in my area that are steep with lots of loose material. I used to FREAK on these, especially going down. The traction with this shoe allow me to go up and down hills like this very confidently.
4. Icing on the cake, this is a very nice looking shoe.
Need I say more?
Love Topo Shoes!!!
Two years ago I had almost given up hiking and running because I have bunions and every shoe I tried on hurt my feet. I was at a running shoe store determined to get a particular brand of shoe that I had a marginal level of comfort with when the sales person persuaded me to try on the Topo Hydroventure. I walked out of the store in that shoe (they couldn't convince me to take them off) and two years later own four pair of Topos. The best part is that I hike and run in them with no pain from my bunions!!! I love Topo shoes! They keep me healthy and running! Thank you Tony.
My Favorite Shoe EVER
by Sarah S
It's true - I love this shoe. In fact, it's my absolute favorite shoe, trail or road!
The Terraventure has been my go to on anything from gnarly mountain trails to boggy wet mud. This shoe delivers with a perfect balance of ground feel, cushion, responsiveness, and traction. I have worn this for races with crushed gravel as well as alpine technical single track, and it performs beautifully on both. The roomy toe box, the secure heel cup and the rock plate all combine to create a perfect fit.
This true fits true to size and was a winner right out of the box.
I am a Topo Ambassador and these are my honest opinions on this shoe; it is my favorite shoe that Topo offers and will always have a special place in my heart. :)
I have bunions on both big toes, a hammertoe on my second right toe, and wide feet. I hate closed toe/heel shoes in the summer. Have been using Keen trail sandals for years and they've been fine, but don't like removing them to dig out small stones or sticks during my nature walks. Have osteoarthritis in both knees which recently flared up, so searched for something with more cushioning, but not heavy. Topo Terraventure was recommended by the REI guy who fit me and is exactly what I needed. They're heavenly! I use them without socks on the hilly wooded trails in my neighborhood on my daily dog walks. Great right out of the box, just the right amount of cushioning (and padding on the top toe box); provides super stability. Highly recommend them.
Convert in love with these shoes!
I love these shoes. I was wearing the altra peak 3.0 which i loved then the 3.5 they made smaller and i kept having issues with a piece on the front pealing away. I was so happy to give these a try and i will never go back. The wide toe box i love, the rock protector plate, minimal drop, lightweight, great traction. I put a lot of Rocky Mountain trail miles on these and they hold up well.
I bought these a few months ago. I had a pair of Reebok Nanos that I ended up hiking in a couple times, and I loved their roomy toe box and 3mm drop... but the lack of stone protection meant my feet were feeling it by the end of the day. Then I found Topos! Stone shield, the perfect toe box, with that same low drop that my legs love. I tested them out a couple weekends ago on a 12mi mountain hike, and my feet were happy!! No more sliding in my oversized running shoes on the trail, these hug my heels and midfoot while keeping my toes so happy. For me, these are the way to go.
The only thing I haven't tested them on is wet rock - they seemed a little slippery on other smooth, wet surfaces, but rainy season hasn't hit yet so they haven't been tested on wet trail rock yet. They handled mud just beautifully, though!
