I mostly hike, work on our ranch/farm, and backpack with these bots/shoes. LOVE them!
Lasted me 900 miles hiking the Appalachian Trail!
These shoes have been so amazing for hiking the Appalachian trail. They're lightweight, provide ankle support, and have a good amount of room in the toe box to let my toes spread naturally. I plan on getting another pair to finish up the AT.
Could it be even better than version one? YES!

Comments about Trailventure 2
I didn't think it was possible to love an updated version of the Trailventure even more, but they managed to make it even better. A little bit more cushion goes such a long way. I use these for backpacking and some trail running. Randomly, I'd had an issue with the very 1st (or last) eyelet hurting my foot, but that was because of my foot not the shoe. The new version doesn't have the eyelet there, and for me makes a huge difference (it was rubbing on the top of my bony foot). Thanks TOPO!
These seem to be a win!
I got these to use hiking the John Muir Trail. I wore them for the first time on a short hike in the White Mtns. First impressions are very good. They were comfortable out of the box. My heels stayed in place, No rubbing. On the downhills my toes did not ram into the shoes. The traction was solid and the soles are very comfortable on the rocky terrain. I walked through a stream to test how fast they shed the water and felt dry - very fast. Although I have not used them with a heavy pack or on long mileage I am thinking these are a win.
Bulky shoe, disapointed
The shoe especially the ankle / tongue were distractingly bulky. they looked alittle like clown shoes on my foot.
Not for backpacking, in my experience
I first want to say I LOVE my trailventure lows and love the brand. They are by far my favorite hiking SHOES ever. However; I did over 50 miles backpacking in the BOOTS and they were honestly the worst backpacking boots I have ever owned. The only way to get even minimal ankle support was to tie them so tight that they bruised my feet. Blisters too. I think these are probably fine for day hiking; but add that weight and some rocky terrain and these fail to provide proper support. I was unable to "trust the boots" to do their job.
Placement of laces anchor makes for a painful hike
This design needs a redo. The anchor for the laces is hard and hits right on the big toe bone. They are painful to wear.
