Product Overview

A new split mesh upper provides security through the heel and midfoot, with increased breathability and durability in the forefoot. The dual-density midsole is paired with an OrthoLite® insole to provide a soft and comfortable ride right below the foot, with firmer response near the ground. We upgraded the outsole with Vibram® Megagrip to deliver the ultimate grip on any surface, wet or dry. Generously spaced lugs offer excellent mud and snow release, while the flexible forefoot rock plate provides protection on technical trails.

Fits like a glove

This is the only trail shoe I will buy anymore, I've made the switch from the Lone Peaks and haven't looked back. Only complaint is that the traction tends to break down rather quickly, however take with a grain of salt since 90% of use is around the west face of Grandeur. Overall fantastic shoes that fit my wide forefoot and not-so-wide heels perfectly.

These are great for backpacking/hiking! Now looking into a pair of their road shoes for running…might just be switching to Topo across the board!

Lots to love

On my second pair and I love them. It seems that there was an issue on earlier generations with the sole pealing, but Topo has these dialed and no durability problems, even after hundreds of miles on rocky Montana trails that like to eat shoes. These shoes paired with the updated gaiters are close to perfect for technical trails with scree and gravel. The roomy forefoot with secure ankle is spot on for my foot and the rock plate is essential. Don't change a thing!

Great backpacking shoes!

I used my Terraventure 3's to backpack the 50-mile Benson Lake Loop in northern Yosemite National Park. These are by far the most comfortable hiking shoes I've ever worn. I hiked over various terrain—from spongy soil to granite rubble, and these shoes always felt like a dream! No signs of blisters and no issues with my toes getting jammed to front of the shoe during steep descents. It's only been 50 miles, but, so far, I love them!

Bombproof thru-hiking shoe!

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have been running and hiking in the Terraventure 2 for several years, and I love them. But after using them for some 1500 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail (which I thru-hiked April 7-Aug.7; the other miles were in other brands) I have to say that the TV3 is even better. The three pairs I used held up extremely well, respectively, for 600+ miles, and I switched them out only because the cushioning had finally become somewhat mashed out. The shoes breathe well, the tread is tough and grippy, and best of all, they fit my feet perfectly (though I did go up one size for the trail). It's a joy to put on a new pair of shoes while routinely hiking 25-30 miles a day and have *zero* issues—no blisters, nothing. Truly, this is the best trail shoe I've ever worn for thru-hiking; kudos to Topo!

Outstanding update

Excellent update, upper is a touch refunded while still allowing toe splay, upper material breathes very well, and shoe isn't warm/absorb heat, even though colors are on the dark spectrum. Updated sole compound provides excellent grip. One of the best of 2021, kudos to the design team.

I was a big fan of terraventure 2. But the terraventure 3 is amazing. As a disabled hiker I have had multiple brain surgeries, multiple spine fusions and refusions, to many knee operations. Topo has changed my life. I am doing more that I have in years from road walking to hiking. My feet feel good these really help my knees, back and whole spine. I always tell people if Altra and hoka one one had a baby topo is it. Great upgrade. Thanks as always topo.

Love the sole and the breathability. The toe box is great, but the midfoot area is really, really narrow.

Not the winner I hoped for. I have the MTN racer 2 and love it besides the mesh tongue(creates pressure points). I was hoping the Terraventure 3 would be the perfect update for comfort on trail descents. The padded tongue is great however there is a bulky outer strap on the side of the shoe that painfully digs in. Once again it is so close to perfect but falls short. Not sure how this one made it past testing. I will keep trying new models to find the right one. The Ultraventure 2 was about right also but the Vibram xS Trek left me disappointed vs the megagrip. The Ultraventure pro was noticeably more stiff and firm.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
