Hydroventure 2 is an exciting update to the award-winning original. It features our proprietary single-layer eVent® breathable/waterproof upper, a fully gusseted tongue, forefoot rock plate, 2-density injected EVA midsole, and new Vibram® Megagrip outsole. A 3mm drop, 25mm x 22mm platform means the Hydroventure 2 allows for natural movement while still offering the protection you need on wet, technical trails. The 2-density injected EVA midsole is softer near the foot but more responsive on the bottom. A new Vibram® Megagrip outsole features deeper, more generously spaced lugs for ”toothier” traction in wet, muddy conditions. These water-resistant trail running shoes now have a gaiter attachment for the Topo gaiter (sold separately) and 2 lace colors for multiple looks.

Exceeded my expectations.
I've had these shoes for nearly two years. I don't run in them, they are my everyday shoes. They are the most comfortable and versatile shoes I own. I specifically bought them for the fit and being waterproof, since I wear them in slushy, rainy areas in Alaska. They have great grip. I highly recommend them.
Comfortable, long-lasting, and loads of grip
I love these shoes. Just hit 400 miles and I'm sold on Topo shoes. I accidently bought WP shoes, and they did really well in minor water (light rain, shallow puddles). What really surprised me was how unexpectedly well they drained. I did a long run with waist high water crossings. At first I thought "great, now I'll be running on anchors", but they drained within a 1/10 of a mile. Don't get me wrong, they were obviously still wet, but with some wool running socks I knocked out 3.5 hours of running without any issues at all. I'll be switching to a non-WP shoe, but I'm sold on Topo.
Why, why, why?!!!!
I have owned 3 pairs of the original hydro. Excellent shoe. Recently purchased the new version. I hate them. Stiff, clunky, uncomfortable. Can’t go 5 miles without foot pain. I am carrying my old shoes for back up. Your improved version is terrible.
This shoe is NOT waterproof! As I bought it for this reason - sorry, I am not happy.

Great grip/too heavy
Awesome grip on wet rocks. Wore this on a Trail Marathon with lots of climbing on slick rocks. Never once slipped. Others were slipping like crazy. They got hot and were too heavy to race that distance in in my opinion. The grip needs to be put on your lighter shoes in my opinion.
Nice shoe, but the upper is not waterproof. I've tested by simply running tap water gently over the upper with my hand inside touching the opposite side of upper material and yes water transfers through on both shoes.

Great ! Sorry - But not really waterproof
This shoe is great in a lot of ways.....but it's not really waterproof. Water leaks in a big way through the untaped stitching in tongue area.
